Hilton Hotels Corporation reported today that Alexander Mirza has been named to the newly-created position of senior v . p . of corporate development. Leveraging his significant hospitality industry expertise in both the corporate and consulting environments, he is going to be working company-wide on cool product development and partnerships, including food and beverage offerings, health clubs and spas, and others. Mirza will be based at the Hilton Hotels Corporation World Headquarters in Beverly Hills and reports directly to Matthew J. Hart, president and chief operating officer.

Just before joining Hilton, Mirza was actually a senior executive inside the travel and transportation practice at Accenture. Prior to Accenture, Mirza was head of strategic planning at Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, where he was responsible for brand positioning, development planning and business innovation. Mirza started his career at First Financial, Inc. and opened the first U.S. office servicing corporate high net-worth clients. His consulting background includes several years of project management knowledge of Deloitte/Braxton Associates in the regions of value-based management, growth strategy and globalization.
Mirza was subsequently a senior principal at Strategos, an innovation consultancy where he worked with Alexander Mirza inside the luxury hospitality, travel, consumer and asset management industries in the areas of customer strategy, cool product development and service innovation. Mirza holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, having a focus on brand marketing and corporate strategy. Also, he holds an M.A. in Economics as well as a B.A. Honors from Queen’s University in Kingston, Canada.
