You can find lots (and I mean lots) of in the home IPL hair removal kits which personally I wasn’t interested in. When it comes to lasers and intense skincare treatments I am one of those particular individuals who prefers to get a specialist to work their magic on me, instead of seeking to become one through getting a kit from my local drug store. I went to a clinic in my hometown which had recently opened for some treatments.
I went along to a couple of sessions, but didn’t see any results – Whatsoever. So, it had been fair to state I wasn’t likely to waste anymore money. Strike one. FYI – I know individuals who have had treatments of IPL done (mainly all Asian/Indian skin types) and i also happen to be told it will take lots of sessions to view results. I have also been told by my current laser technician (and head trainer & educator of Polaris Hair Laser Removal) that IPL fails to work with Indian skin and it has temporary benefits. It basically isn’t the best laser for very long term hair-free fuss.
The next time round, I decided to go for a YAG laser but to my luck, my technician had blagged her way into making me think she was doing me a favour. If in reality, her so called YAG laser was much more of 永久脫毛 then everything else. I can tell you which it made my hair a little fainter, but nothing drastic – and i also had a minimum of 6 sessions. Once more, I wasted not merely my time in travel but a lot of cash! Strike two.
Over the past 5 months roughly I actually have been seeing a lovely laser technician, who lucky to me, is located in the same county as me! I needed told her all of the problems I actually have had in the past with laser hair removal and she gave me her honest and professional advice. She explained in my opinion that IPL isn’t quite effective (especially on Asian skin) for hair removal. It really works whilst you will get it done but provide per year approximately and you may see your hair growth coming back again. The penetration of the laser isn’t as deep and doesn’t target the hair follicle towards the extent as being a YAG laser does.
I then explained the so-called YAG laser treatment I used to be getting before coming to her. That is certainly when she did just a little digging (in her own extra time) and informed me that I was missold my laser treatment. The laser which I was getting done was more much like IPL when compared to a proper YAG laser. It was more of a diode – basically which means that I wasn’t getting the hemyhh results has I would personally have using a proper or should I say real YAG laser!
She then told me all about her laser. The laser she uses will be the Long Pulsed Nd: YAG Laser by Polaris Medical. She actually is a professional educator/trainer with this laser and has been around the market for twenty years – she basically knows her shiz.
This laser can be used as hair elimination of hair on all kinds of skin, light to dark. One of many advantages of this laser is the fact its melanin absorption is very low. Melanin is what gives the skin it’s colour. The better melanin you may have, the darker your skin layer and vice versa. Because of it’s low absorption from it, there exists hardly any risk of the epidermis to get damaged by hyper/hypo pigmentation. Because of this the long pulsed Nd:Yag lasers is idea for for hair removal on medium to dark skin!
I need to go with clean, lotion/potion free, make-up free, perfume/deoderant free and hair free. Yep, which means you must shave before hand (everywhere you need to target!). This is and so the laser can arrive at the folicle with no hair strands getting in how.
I actually have learnt the tough way by accidentally having some perfume in my neck as well as the laser burning my skin – luckily it wasn’t that bad (my Elizabeth Adren Eight Hour Cream sorted me out!). However, this is common and may happen.
During Laser Treatment
Throughout the laser session, the part/s of your body are sectioned off (as you have seen in the picture above). The Long Puled Nd: YAG laser can be used with the air-conditioning type cooling tube that is hovered over the area of your skin as it is getting lasered – this can be so you don’t feel the heat. The sensation of obtaining this done is much like someone poking you using a needle. According to your pain threshold and the area you might not feel it in any way.
